What To Expect
Our experienced guides will meet you in the village of Bukit Lawang and take you on a journey through the lush rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park. As you make your way through the forest, our guides will point out the different plants and animals, and share their knowledge about the orangutans and their habitat.

During the trek, you'll have the opportunity to see a variety of different species of primates, including gibbons, macaques, and of course, orangutans. These gentle giants are one of the most fascinating creatures on the planet, and our guides will help you spot them in the wild, while also ensuring that you keep a safe distance.

The half day trek is designed to be less strenuous than the full day trek, but still provides a good workout. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that are suitable for walking on uneven terrain. You'll also want to bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
